THE BEST POEM EVER

This week in Moana My writing group had to write their own peom inspired by James K Baxter

The town was usual enough, it had
An ocean, a ladder, a dairy, a sky and even a huge wharf I always went to.
My sisters, my cousins and I did what family do-Jumped of the tall wharf, made sand castles, dodged the sand balls, walked like mouse through the mad family trying to get to the food, ran up and down, waved goodbye
Doing nothing important

Written by Kohine

Inspired by James K Baxter

We used the first and last senteces from James K Baxter and also got an idea from his peom to add in 5 nonus and 5 strong verbs.

My poem reminds me of Tolaga bay and it makes me feel happy.

Times table fun

In Moana on Mondays and Tuesdays after morning tea we play this game that make learning times tables fun. You earn and collect trophys by takeing test on a serten times table. Medals and diplomas are the two diffrent trophys you can get . Diplomas are sheets that tell you what times tables you have completed but you have to finishes a test. For example if you were practising your 7 times tables in your test it will show a certain amout of your 7 times table. To earn medals you must complete a series of tests. There's also two diplomas that are different the big diploma and little diploma. They both are different because little diplomas only test you on your 1,2,3,4,5, and 7 times tables. Also big diplomas show all you times tables. Take a look at my big and little diplomas.

Birds of the Amazon

In Moana 3 we look at some videos showing us the birds that live in the Amazon beacuse we are reading a book thats based in the Amazon Jungle the Explorer by Katherine Rundell. Then we had a task to create our own birds of the Amazon. We made our own birds but we had to make it look like it would live in the Amazon. Birds in the Amazon are very colourful and bright. MOTHERS DAY

On Friday in
Moana 3 we made our Mothers cards for Mother's day. We had to make a card by taking a photo of us blowing kisses, or throwing kisses, or holding a heart. We then made a dyed backround and then we  had to cut out some hearts using some patterned paper. Then we glued everything on. After that we  had to write a poem and then glued the poem inside.  When the day finished we went home and gave our Mothers their cards. My Mother was so happy.
This is my mothers day card cover.
And this is my mothers day poem.

4 days of timetable

Yay, it's been our first 3 weeks of using our digital timetable and im loving it. We can choose our own links to learning. Links to learning are found on our learning hub, which is our class website. Also, we are able to pick workshops to go to with Matua Fergus or Koka Ngarie. Our workshops are to be found in our email. There is an email that has a link to workshops on a Google form. Koka Ngarie or Matua Fergus sends us that email on Sunday at about 3-4pm. This digital timetable helps me to find what I need to do, where I need to be and what I need to start my learning.

Each workshop or links to learning activity in our timetable is 30 minutes long.. every day we follow our timetable exsept friday because it is a home room friday. I am happy that we get to pick all the diffrent things that are on the google forms and links to learning. Its good because we aren't having to move down to the mat and the teacher having to say everything again to the people that didn't get it. The bad part about using digital timetable is that we run out of time and don't know the time and go past everybodys time. Maybe we need an alarm on our chormebook.

Here are most of the things we do on our time table.

.workshops
-Math, Reading, Writting, PE, and Te Reo
.Iquiry
.Basic facts
.Read to self
.Quick write
.Listen to reading
.Word work
.Work on maths
.Work on writting
.Work shop activies
