THE BEST POEM EVER
This week in Moana My writing group had to write their own peom inspired by James K Baxter
The town was usual enough, it had
An ocean, a ladder, a dairy, a sky and even a huge wharf I always went to.
My sisters, my cousins and I did what family do-Jumped of the tall wharf, made sand castles,
dodged the sand balls, walked like mouse through the mad family trying to get to the food, ran up
and down, waved goodbye
Doing nothing important
Written by Kohine
Inspired by James K Baxter
We used the first and last senteces from James K Baxter and also got an idea from his peom to add in 5 nonus and 5 strong verbs.
My poem reminds me of Tolaga bay and it makes me feel happy.

Actions Speack Louder than Words
Tuesday at Wainui Beach our whole school had a clean up day and we called it Actions Speak Louder that Words. Each class did something to help tidy our school and community. I got to go and help the room nine children, we did mulching in our schools medicine garden and made kawa kawa tea. The kawa kawa tea tased like spiced mint. Have a look at us mulching and making kawa kawa tea.

At lunch time the whole school walked down to the Hanamatua stream to have lunch. On the way back we walked along the beach doing a clean up. Here are some photos of us eating and walking along the beach.

Birds of the Amazon
In Moana 3 we look at some videos showing us the birds that live in the Amazon beacuse we are reading a book thats based in the Amazon Jungle the Explorer by Katherine Rundell. Then we had a task to create our own birds of the Amazon. We made our own birds but we had to make it look like it would live in the Amazon. Birds in the Amazon are very colourful and bright. This is what my bird turned out as.
